Terms of Use
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Test My Faith (“TMF”), operated by Joshua Caleb, a sole trader trading as Test My Faith (“we”), of 73 Grange Lane, Thurnby, Leicester LE7 9PH, United Kingdom. By using TMF you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Walking safely comes first
TMF is played while walking or jogging outdoors. You are responsible for your own safety. Please:
- Stay aware of your surroundings. Keep your eyes up and your volume at a level where you can hear traffic.
- Obey traffic laws and signals, and use pavements, crossings and safe pedestrian routes.
- Stop somewhere safe before reading, typing or answering. Never use the screen while crossing a road or in traffic.
- Choose routes, times and conditions that are safe for you, and stop if anything feels unsafe, including the weather, the terrain or how you feel.
- Check with a doctor before starting if you have health concerns about walking or running.
2. Routes, GPS and distance
Routes are generated automatically from map data and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. A route may pass private land, closed paths, busy roads or unsafe areas. Always follow local signs and your own judgement over TMF’s route. GPS distance and step estimates are approximate. TMF is a game, not a navigation, fitness-measurement or emergency service. Do not rely on it to find your way or to get help.
3. Your account
- You can play without an account. An account can keep your results across devices if you choose to let it; see the Privacy Policy.
- Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read your sign-in codes can use your account.
- You must be at least 13 to use TMF, and you confirm this when you create an account. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or carer knows you use TMF and where you walk, and ask them before buying anything.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, then Privacy & Data) or at Delete account. Deletion is permanent.
4. Fair play and acceptable use
Please don’t:
- fake movement, tamper with scores or results, or use automated tools to play or publish;
- attempt to access other people’s accounts or data, or test or bypass TMF’s security;
- overload or disrupt the service, or misuse the route-planning, sign-in or feedback features;
- copy, resell or redistribute TMF’s content, recordings or artwork.
Leaderboard names and avatars are generated by TMF, and players cannot post public messages. We may remove scores we reasonably believe are not genuine, and may suspend accounts that break these terms.
5. Scores and leaderboards
Scores are calculated by TMF from your answers and movement. Leaderboard positions are for enjoyment: published scores are checked for plausibility, not independently verified. We may correct, recalculate or remove scores and change how scoring works.
6. Faith content
TMF presents Bible passages, reflections, questions and optional prayers to encourage engagement with Scripture. It is not professional, medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it is not pastoral care. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
7. Premium
Premium is not on sale yet. Nothing in TMF can be bought today, and no payment is taken. The rest of this section describes how Premium will work when it is offered; we will update these terms and tell you in the app before it goes on sale.
Some Journeys and features need Premium. Premium is a subscription, monthly or annual, and the price, the renewal and how to cancel are shown to you before you pay. Monthly and annual Premium include exactly the same things, and Premium never changes your score or how an answer is marked.
Buying on the web. When you subscribe on TMF’s website, payment is taken by our payment provider, which is the seller of record: it charges you, sends your receipt and handles refunds under the buyer terms it shows at checkout. Prices include any VAT or sales tax that applies where you are. Your subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in the app, under Account and Premium. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting your TMF account cancels any live web subscription first, so you are not charged again, and if it cannot be cancelled the deletion does not go ahead. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law, including any right to cancel or to a refund.
Buying in an app store. If Premium is later offered through the App Store or Google Play, that purchase is billed, renewed and cancelled through your store account under its terms, and deleting your TMF account does not cancel it.
Asking questions. Where TMF offers an optional “Ask about this Journey” box, answers are generated by an automated system from the Journey’s own text and the Bible text, can be wrong, and are not advice of any kind. Free accounts have a small allowance and Premium a larger one, and a limit can change.
8. Intellectual property
TMF’s software, design, written content, recordings and artwork belong to TMF or its licensors. Scripture quotations are used under their respective licences. You may use TMF for your own personal, non-commercial play.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, pause or stop parts of TMF, including Journeys and features. If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use TMF means you accept the updated terms.
10. Disclaimers and liability
TMF is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your walking, running, route choices or environment, or from reliance on routes, distances or content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
